Natural Insulation
The warmth of down comes from the clustering effect of its thousands of tiny filaments. These clusters are akin to 3-D pockets that capture and retain air, which is then used to keep the wearer warm.
Lightweight Warmth
Fill Power is a measure of down’s loft and therefore its insulating value. The higher the value, the more air a certain weight of the down can trap, and thus the more insulating ability the down will have.
Our DownTek™-filled products have Fill Powers of between 750 and 850, meaning exceptionally warm and lightweight jackets.
Responsible Down Standard
The Responsible Down Standard certifies down against animal welfare requirements and tracks it throughout the supply chain from source to final product. All DownTek™ down complies to this rigorous standard.
Superior To Standard Down
DownTek™ stays dry up to 10 times longer than regular down when exposed to water. Its specialist nanotechnology treatment creates surface tension on the filaments of the down clusters, forcing moisture molecules to bead and roll off the down. This leaves each cluster free to continue trapping warm air.
Warmth For All Conditions
DownTek™ uses the International Down and Feather Testing Laboratory shake test to measure the water resistance of its down. Whereas untreated down lasts anywhere from 25–60 minutes before becoming completely saturated, DownTek™ lasts 1,500 minutes.
Environmentally Conscious
We use DownTek’s PFC-Free™ variant, a Bluesign-approved chemistry, throughout all of our down products. It is non-hazardous and non-toxic.
